    They sowed it in the same way as corn is sown now.
    They used cut it and put it in sheaves. Then they would scutch it. There was a stone in the field, for the purpose. They used to scutch it against this stone to knock away the seeds. Then they buried it for two weeks in a bog to rot the fibre. Then they used to break it with sticks to get flax inside the fibre. They used to spin the flax. In those days there were spinning wheels in the district of Wolfhill.
