  1. The following is a list of riddles which I hear commonly used in this district.
    How many feet have forty sheep, a shepherd and his dog.
    Answer. Two feet
    I went to the wood and I got it I lost it and I sat down to look for it the more I looked for it the less I liked it
    I brought it home when I could not find it.
    Answer. A thorn in my foot.
    What can go up a chimney down and cannot come down a chimney up.
    Answer. An umberella.
    A head like a thimble a tail like a rat. If you guess forever you won't guess that.
