    breakfast the two eldest giants used to take their sledges and go to the King's farm and kill his horses and cattle.
    Raymond saw this work going on for a few days so he said to himself that he would stop it if he could. The giants had a certain path on which they used to travel through the wood when they would be going to the King's farm. Raymond saw them walking along this path every morning, and one day he asked the King what he would give him if he killed the giants, and the King said he would give him a crock of gold and a good farm.
    Raymond was very proud when he heard of the gold, so next morning he got up very early and filled his pockets with stones. He took his sword with him also. He went over to the path in the forest and noticed a great number of ivy trees growing on each side of it. It was Spring time so every plant was in bloom and the trees were covered
