    Young men of a true Irish nation, who follow the tricoloured fold
    Come, join in sincere lamentation and mourn for the proud and the bold;
    For it's only a pitiful story and its equal to bloodshed and tears
    Like stars in the realms of their glory shine the names of our brave Volunteers
    It occurred on a morning in Springtime when all Nature it's charms did unfold
    When those brave boys came down from the mountain their number been thirteen all told.
