Date: May 1938There is a well known story about potatoes still told in Canada. There was once a man who was spraying his potatoes with a besom but on this account he was very slow. He then thought of a plan. He got up on his donkey and started to go between the ridges throwing spray on the potatoes as he went. However a drop of spray fell on the ass who started o run. The man fell into the bucket of spray and from that day to this he never sprays his potatoes except with a spraying-machine.- Collector
