    were given farms of land in other parts of the country. A family called Callaghan moved to Boho which is near Ballintubber. The Mulreinin family moved, also. The Frehil family moved to Castleteehan. The farms of land, which were left unoccupied, were divided among the other farmers, thus increasing their holdings.
    The Moving Bog took place on the Saturday before Christmas Day 1905. It was on the Big Market Day in Castlerea and many people were prevented from going to town on account of the masses of bogland and water that blocked the roadway.
