- The village of Hawksford is divided into two parts - upper and lower. In the upper part, there is a beautiful Holy Well, noted for its miraculous cures.
At a certain period of the year, namely between the 15th of August and the 8th of September, the natives perform stations there.
The station consists of the following prayers - the Rosary three times, while walking round the well three times. Then three Hail Marys are said at the well.
It is known by name as St. Coleman's well. During later years, tourists came from distant parts of the countries to see the well, and to perform stations and other devotions there.
The strangest point in connection is - there is a drop of water continually falling from a ledge of rock overhanging the well.- Bailitheoir
