    The bride and groom used to walk to the chapel and back and all the friends and neighbours after them. When they would be coming home the brides party and the grooms party would start
    hasting to see who would be in first because it was said that which ever of them was home first would live the longest. Then the friends and neighbours would gather around the bride to see how the new hat suited her for the girls in those days did not wear hats until they were getting married. They had always a piper at the wedding. The feasting and dancing would last all night and well into the next day. The supper consisted of bacon and cabbage
