    them. These candles were made from tallow and they were called dips. This man was called "The Chandler" by the old people. The people could not afford to buy candles until their family grew up and went to America.
    Sometimes there was a bed built out of the back of the kitchen. This was called a pressty. You would think it was a press to look at it. It is now used for holding trumperies and for holding flour and meal.
