  1. Churning
    I have a churn at home. It is three feet in height. It is two feet wide at the bottom, at the is two feet and a half. Our churn is one year old. The sides of the churn are round the are six hoops on the churn in order to keep in place, there is a mark on the side of the churn and on the lid.
    The various parts of the churn are the dash, joggler, buttercup. Butter is made once a week in winter and every second day in summer. My mother does the churning. Long ago if a man came in to the house where they would be churning and took a coal he would bring the luck of the churning. The churning is done by hand. The dash is moved upwards and downwards. It takes about an hour to
