    potatoes. The neighbours help each other to slit the potatoes and to plant them. There are holes made in the ploughed ridges and the slits put into them this is called googering then the holes are stopped with a mallet.
    The next thing is he draws the manure with horse and cart and spreads it on the ridges then he shovels the mould up on the ridges. Some time ago there were wooden ploughs in my district but there are none now.
    The common plough is a steel plough. the old people used to make spades for themselves long ago but nowadays they buy them in shops.
