- The care of Farm Animals
The domestic animals generally kept by the farmers are cows, calves, sheep, horses and donkeys. When the cows are put into the stable for the night they are tied around the neck with a rope. The rope is attached to a chain and fastened to a stake. The cow house is commonly called the byre. The majority of the people nail a horse shoe over the door for luck.
