    Emblems and objects of value such as crosses and badges are hung up in houses on certain.
    On Saint Bridget's Day as cross is made of straw or rushes and placed over the entrance to keep away sickness from the people of the house. When St Bridget was on earth there was a terrible disease going and St Bridget made a cross and placed it over the school doors to keep the disease from the children and so it .
    On St Patrick's Day a cross is made of different coloured ribbons and the children
