- StoryMany a time I have listened to the old people telling stories of ghosts, fairies and other evil spirits. Here is a story which was told to me by an old neighbouring peasant named Glaney of a mishap which befell him one Winter's night.He was returning from a wake some distance from his own home, when he was led astray. The way home led across a lonely moor. Not knowing he was astray he continued walking on the path as he thought at last he found himself on the outskirts of a fort from which came the cry of cats.
Knowing he was astray he stood up and gazed all around. A great fear seized him and he began to mutter a few prayers.
Thinking of what he heard from his father, that of he took off his coat and turn it inside out he would be directed on the right path. He did so. At this moment a black cat came and lay at his feet. It was now breaking day and he found that he was in Stonepark fort a considerable distance from his own(continues on next page)- Collector
