When a hen is clucking an egg or two is put under her to see if she would sit on them and then if she would ten or twelve hens eggs are put under her, but if they are turkey eggs only about eight will fit. When we call the turkey's we say yib, yib and when calling the hens we say Tuic, Tuic.
Teresa Hoare. Drummingmore, Ruskey. - We have a lot of domestic and farm animals at home. Their names are the cows, the calves the horse the ass and the pigs. We have three cows and three calves and three pigs a horse and an ass. We have also out-houses for the animals; the byre for the cows. It is a big byre and white-washed inside and outside. There are three poles and three chains to which the cows are tied. There is an ass shoe hung over the door it is said nothing will happen the stock. The names of the cows are Dolly, Fallons and the White Head. When we call the cows we say Prug Prug. We have also hen's chickens ducks turkeys and geese(continues on next page)
