  1. In the year 1847 the road from Cashelmine to Clashaganny was changed in order to avoid hills. The Government advanced money and they cut clay from the top of the hill and put it in the hollow. Then they made the road in the hollow.
    At the Cashelmine cross-roads there used to be a dance there every Sunday evening. A blind piper used to play music for the dance. The priest of the Parish did not want the dance at the cross-roads.
    One evening as the people were dancing the priest came along. When the crowd saw him coming they disappeared but the blind piper who did not know what happened kept on
