- The traditional crock of gold of this district has many supposed resting places. Excavations were made at night by unknown persons one in a place called the Barn field and another in Poll-Thaidhgin both in the village of Kilnaclaghy near Rockwood County Roscommon. Somehow it leaked out that nothing was found, the treasure seekers having come a long way.
In the year 1879 a crock of silver was found by Joe Irwins granfather Hugh Hanley in a small garden named Garryhane in the village of Anratabeg County Roscommon. Near by is "Crusch na [?]" the hill of the corpses a large mound with two(continues on next page)- Collector
