    established was an agent for distributing the Indian meal, and the store in which it was kept is still to be seen. We had a book up to a couple of years ago with the names of the people to whom he distributed he meal.
    Few people were reported to have died in this district, because when a person died his name was not registered and the family got the same amount as if the person were alive.
    The following year seed potatoes got from Scotland were supplied by the Government but were not as good as the Irish potatoes before the famine.
