- When I asked my grandmother the other day to tell me some of the customs they used practise on Hallow E'en in her young days I was very surprised to find that we practise a lot of the same ones to-day. I was also very glad for I did not think they would be preserved, although a few have not.
Long ago it was the custom for every Irish girl to go to a river at midnight on Hallow E'en and there she would see the face of her future Husband.
