  2. Prayers to be said at night.
As I passed through this holy land,
I met the Blessed Virgin with twelve mass books in her hand,
Twelve bells ringing, Twelve priests singing
Open the gates of heaven, shut the gates of hell,
And let the poor sinners in.
As I lay me down to sleep,
I give my soul to God to keep,
There are four corners on my bed,
There are four angels on them spread,
    Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John,
God bless the bed I lie on.
