  1. Fairs.
Fairs are held locally in towns such as Roscommon and Fuerty. Cattle, sheep, horses, and pigs are sold at fairs. Sometimes buyers come to the houses.
Buying or selling is not carried on at a cross-roads. There is a fair green in Roscommon but people objected to it as it was not high enough. The fairs are held on the street then.
When people sell their cattle they give money to the buyer for luck.
There is a great fair held in Ballinasloe for horses and people go to it with horses. If the beast is wild a halter is put on it and sold on it.
