- Domestic Animals.
We have a lot of animals at home. The chief ones are the cow, pig, horse, sheep, goose, turkey, duck.
We have three cows by the name of 'Kerry cow', 'small cow' 'heifer cow'.
We have two horses. We call one the 'big horse' and the other the pony.
When we are driving the horses we say 'Go on' and we say 'Hearse up' to the cows. When we are calling the pigs we say 'seoc seoc'.
When a woman is putting down a hen to hatch she put a cross on each egg with a pencil or polish.
When we are driving the geese we say 'Gé, Gé'.
