- Travelling Folk
A lot of travelling folk visit this district. They are called Gypsies, Tinkers, Peddlers and Jews.
They live in camps or vans on the side of the bye-roads.
The tinkers as their name tells us, earns their living by making tin-cans and selling them through the country.
Some of the Gypsies are horse-dealers. The women sell floor-mats and little wicker tables and artificial flowers and lace.
The peddlers sell mens socks, soap and laces. The jews sell mens and womens clothes.
