    It is believed that the figure 13 is unlucky. If you get a horse-shoe lost and bring it home and cover it with silver paper it is supposed to bring luck on the house.
    If you spill salt it is supposed to be unlucky. If you break a mirror you will not have luck for seven years. If you are going on a journey and one magpie to cross you path, you will have no luck.
    If a rabbit crosses your path you will have luck. If you were going on a journey on a Saturday morning and a hare to cross you path you will have bad luck.
    If you spill sugar it means a joyous surprise.
