- (continued from previous page)Rossmacowen, is a field; on the north fence of this field is a green oak, and it was to that, that Diarmuid ODonnovan was hanged when the English chased the OSullivan Beare's clan.
The Dogs' Rock:- This rock is situated about a mile east of Beare Island's Point. We are told that it was called so, because the waves roar around it all during the year, in Summer and Winter. - Cnocán Dearg :- This got its name from people that were killed there long ago and the blood was seen after them.
Cnocán Dóighte :- This was so called because at one time this cnochán was burned.
Páirc Amháin :- Because it was separated from the other fields of the same farm.
Páirc na bPort :- This was so called because it was a bog at one time.- Collector
