  2. Bhí fear ann uair agus níor chaith sé peidhre bróg riamh. Lá amháin chuaidh sé go dtí an bhaile mór chun peidhre bróg do cheannach. Chuir sé an peidhre bróg air ar thaobh an bhóthair ag dul abhaile, ach níor oscail sé an córda a bhí ag ceangailt na mbróg le céile. Dá bhríg sin bhí sé go mall ag teacht abhaile. Bhí imshníomh ar a mhnaoí cá raibh sé ach nuair a tháinig sé go dtí an doras thuit sé ar an urlár leis an tuirse."Mí-chothrom orthu mar bhróga" arsa an t-amadán. "Ní chaithfeadh-sa peidhre bróg feasta".
