Fairs in this district are held in the village of Drumoleague. They are not held in a special place like in other towns. In years gone the fairs were held in a hill called "the top of the Rock" a place about two hundred yards north of the village.
Buyers from Cork, Dunmanway, Bantry, Bandon, Clonakilty, and other towns attend the fairs at Drimoleague. Some of the buyers go around to the farmers' houses and they buy cattle and pigs.
On the fair morning the farmers get up early to drive cattle to the fair and to have some thing to eat. The buyers get up very early on the fair morning and they walk out the country roads to see if they could buy the cattle
