  1. (continued from previous page)
The tables are set and furnished
    With vessels of bygone years
And the heroes of Cape Clear's stronghold
Keep their feast with loud jests and cheers

Rich fruits from the Isles of Adventure
Gay brocades, vintage rare of yore
Are heaped high upon the trestles
And the music swells more and more

Then tales of the past are chanted
Tales of treasure, of heroes' great fame
And many brave names are whispered
In the light of the moon's pale flame

If you venture you'll hear them singing
With visions you'll see the crew
Of the phantom ship that passes
Like swift glimpse of fair morning's dew

But the days and the years are passing
And the Castle's walls show decay
But "the wee folk" still guard its treasure
Be they nought but fable and lay

Still at eve comes that phantom galleon
    Heavy laden with rarest store
Floating light as a gossamer wave crest
And its croon mixed with ocean's roar.
