  2. When swallows are flying low rain is near.
    A plentiful supply of fruit and berries in Autumn is a sign of a bad winter.
    If the birds come into a house we will have a storm.
    If a dog is seen to eat grass rain is said to be near at hand.
    The early appearance of wild geese shows signs of an early and hard winter.
    If the setting sun is red a fine day is said to follow.
    A clouded moon threatens rain.
    A clear moon is a sign of fine weather.
    If the clouds are moving fast a storm is supposed to follow.
