    He asked the man for the bacon and when the man saw it he told the messenger to tell the shopkeeper that he had'nt it. He said he would half it between both of them and they could hide the messenger piece in the ditch and he could get it when going home from working The messenger was tempted and agreed. He went to the shop and told them there was no bacon to be found. As soon as the messenger was gone the man took the other mans bacon and had it for himself.
