On St. Stephen's Day boys and men go round from house to house dressed in quaint attire and wear masks or vizards.
At the door of each house the wren boys stand. One of them plays a lively tune on a mouth organ or melodian and the others dance to the tune.
The following rhyme is recited about the wren:-
"The wren the wren the king of all birds
St Stephen's Day was caught in the furze,
Though the bird he is little his family is great
Rise up my landlady + give us a treat
