- (continued from previous page)and they had a very wicked sheep and they killed the sheep and all the family ate some of this sheep, and after some time most of them had to go to the asylum in Ballinsloe and one of them is still living in the Asylumand another is still living in Lisphelim but she is now very old and it is said she never goes out.
There was a shoemaker in Culleen known as Thomas McLaughlin and he was supposed to make very good boots, and clogs.
Another shoemaker lived in Lisphelim named Michael Cunningham and he was supposed to be famous for his bootmaking and there are still several Cunningham families, and it is not known whether they are related to him or not.
Another famous shoemaker lived in Corramore and his name was Pat Cunningham and he is only dead a couple of years.
