  2. There are several fairy forts in this district, where fairies were often supposed to have been seen in former times. Those places are locally called 'Lisses'.
    There is one situated on our land in this townland of Knock. It is circular in shape surrounded by a ditch. There are gaps in the ditch where to enter, but there is no entrance hole in the centre or elsewhere. The 'liss' is very high in the centre with a dyke between the high part and the ditch.
