    in the house died, he had been suffering from a sore foot and had used crutches. After his death the people of the house went on their holidays and left their servant boy and girl at home. Those two people heard the man going round the house with the crutch. A few times the man got it hard to move.
    Some time after this they heard people in the kitchen breaking firewood and putting it on the fire. They were also opening the lid of the oven and closing it again and pushing the chairs from one place to another, they were talking very loud one said to the other, "I think the cake is burning". The other woman took off the lid of the oven and took out the cake. When the two people got up in the morning they were very much surprised to see everything in the place as they had left them the night before.

  2. There was a very strange creature seen at Bealnamullia castle by a great many people. On a certain night a man was coming home from rambling he saw this creature leaping around the road, the man thought it was some of his neighbours who thought to frighten and he shouted "Halt halt", but the poor creature could not halt.
