  1. In days gone by shoes were not worn by any youngster. Every person was about 20 years of age before getting any footwear. Some could have them earlier if they could earn the price of them & many people were much older before they wore shoes.
    In the year 1886 a man who lived at Cloichín fished a season at Garnish barefoot.
    Water in which the feet are washed should not be thrown out after nightfall lest it would strike any "good person" who would be passing. If it is thrown out it may have a bad effect on the feet.
