  1. At the present day the people get married during Shrove. They like to have the wedding finished before Shrove Tuesday which is the last day.
First the people meet in town, when they are match making, and they make an agreement. When they are finished they fix a day for the marriage. The bridegroom buys a new suit, and a hat, and everything else that is necessary. The bride makes a lovely white dress, and sometimes she has a veil.
Their parents are busy getting the house ready for the wedding. They buy whiskey, porter, and lemonade for the people they ask to the wedding. On the morning of the marriage the bride and bridegroom go to the church in a motor car. The couple are dressed nicely.
