  1. The road nearest to the school leads from Dunmanway to Inchigeela a distance of about eleven miles This road was built about fifty seven years ago by the "Board of Works"
    The Money expended on it amounted to two thousand pounds.
    The construction of the road started at Aultagh where the Macroom Dunmanway road joined it. It took two years to construct. The young able-bodied men were paid 7s-6p a week, those who were not able to work as well, were paid five shillings.
