  1. Deshure fort stands on the top of Deshure hill. I suppose it is over a thousand feet higher than the valley below and why it was constructed at so great an altitude I never heard anyone to explain. There are many old tales told about it. I have heard that you would not be lucky if you tilled the land enclosed within its circular walls. My father said he knew an old man named Mick Dwyer who told him that he had a little lamb that went in through the openings of the fort and remained inside a day and a night. The old man
