- Long ago the old people thought it was unlucky to do certain work on certain days. None of them would remove from one house[?] to another on Monday, or do any clipping on that day, because there is an old saying "Ná bheadh lonra an Luain orth"
Anyone would'nt start building a house on a Thursday. It is called Diardaoin Dubh. It is said when Saint Patrick came to Ireland there was a huge serpent in south of Ireland, and St Patrick drove him into a lake, on Thursday and he said to the serpent "Fan annsan go dtí lá an Luain" and the serpent said to Patrick "Á is fada an Luain é á Pádráig" and the serpent then cursed Thursday.
