The wild birds of the district are:- The thrush, sparrow, swallow, bullfinch, seagull, tom-tit, rook, corn-crake, cuckoo, robin, blackbird, pilibín-miog, linnet, yellow hammer, stone-thrush, jackdaw, wild goose, hawk, pigeon, skylark, wren, wild duck, magpie, snipe, pheasant, curlew, plover, starling.
    The cuckoo, the swallow, the corn crake and the sparrow migrate between the end of July and the end of August.
    The thrush builds her nest in a bush or in an ivy fence. The nest is built of moss and sticks. The eggs are blue with brown spots.
    The sparrows build together in old houses. They have fifty nests in the eaves in one of my houses. The nests are built of feathers and straw.
