- In the farmer's house on Twelvth night candles are made out of rushes. Nearly every farmer makes baskets out of sally - rods. Forge work. John McCormac, Curnaseer, Kiltoom, makes gates, ploughs, and fire cranes.
Every man thatches his own house, first he cuts rods and points them, he pulls the straw the he is ready to thatch.
Michael McDonnell of Curramore, Kiltoom, burns a few kilns of lime every year. He burns the lime with coake and stones.
