    2. Give the person a sudden blow to produce a moment's fright or start.
    3. Pour water from jug into mouth from a height.
    4. Take a mouthful of water, place fingers in ears. Hold as long as possible. then take fingers from ears and while doing so, swallow the water.
    Consumption
    Cut the tops of broom (bog tree) and boil them for some time in water. Drain of the water and keep in jug. Drink about one glassful each morning.
    Rheumatism
    1. Cut a raw potato in slices and apply to the sore parts as one would a poultice.
    2. Capture a few honey bees, put them in a match box. Place the box over the sore spot, and open slowly. The opening is to be towards the skin. The bees will sting madly and these will cure the rheumatism.
    3. Wear red flannel next the skin.
    Backache
    Dissolve a small lump of washing soda and drink the solution each morning.
