- (continued from previous page)There is also a Mass Path in Gurtroe. The roads at that time were very few and were made in portions. There are a few very old roads in the locality. There is a road between Mr. Regan's and Mr. Mc Carthy's land in Cahernacrine. It is leading to the summit of the hill and it is called "Bothair na Bpucaí." It was through this passage that all funerals used to pass to the burying ground.
There was another road going from Cahernacrine to Sullivans in Glencreagh, and a man named Mr. Keohane worked in this road. There was another road now known as Skahana Road, from Skahana Cross to Kealkil, and long ago Mr Cadigan worked in this road Their daily pay was six or nine pence and that was considered very great pay in those days. There was another old road in Gories leading to Ballylickey and Pearson's Bridge called "Faill na muice" Road. It is still used, and travelled by people as a great nearway to Ballylickey.- Collector
