  1. (continued from previous page)
Oh holy Cross of Christ, ward off from me all dangerous deaths now and forever more.
Oh Blessed Mother of God intercede for us poor sinners in honour of Our lord Jesus Christ and in honour of His Holy resurrection, of his God-like ascension to which he used to bring to me the right way to happiness.
True as Jesus Christ born at Christmas day in a stable at Bethlehem.
True as Jesus Christ died to save sinners.
True as Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven.
So the honour of Jesus will keep me from my enemies, visible and invisible now and forever.
Oh, Lord Jesus Christ, Mary and Joseph, pray for us.
Through Nicodemus and Joseph, who took our Lord down from the cross and buried him.
Oh, Lord Jesus Christ, through thy sufferings on the cross thy soul was flitting out of this life.
Give me grace that I may carry my cross patiently without dread or fear, and that without complaining and that I may escape all dangerous deaths now and forever more. Amen.
This prayer is said during a thunder-storm, or in danger.
