    she went to another house, and there was a woman and two girls spinning thread. They said they would give her lodgings but they had no bed. In the evening they gathered flax and made a bed on the floor and she slept there. That is the reason the stuff of the flax is used fro christening, or as the old people call it the "tow".
    One day, as Our Lady was going along the road, she lost the pin of her brooch. She went along, and when she came to a forge, the smith made her a brooch from money. It is always said that the water where the smith cools the iron cures corns and chill-blains.
