- "The Woman's Leap"About two miles from Crookhaven there is a high cliff standing out known as the Woman's Leap. It is said that an English soldier chased a woman through the hills to kill her but she jumped over the cliff out on the strand. Though the jump was a high one, she was uninjured. That is how it got its name Woman's Leap. The story goes that the soldier was killed.Mary Pyburn
