  1. Farewell my dearest Mary to America I must away
Tis many the pleasant evening together we did stray
It grieves my heart to have to part to bid a long adieu
To friends so kind I left behind in the parish of Sweet Kilmoe
Sad and lonely was the hour when we were forced to part
With parents dear and comrade boys and the fond one of my heart
In a foreign strand I mean to land my fortune to pursue
But the scenes behind I'll [?] in mind in my home in Sweet Kilmore
Its many the fair in Sweet Goleen we spent a happy day
In dancing and in singing the time we pass away
A flowing glass around we pass our comrades to renew
I'll never forget the days we spent in the parish of Sweet Kilmoe
