    This thread wound into large balls - on pins in an outhouse made into hanks. The thread was sometimes dyed at home before sending to the weaver. Blankets. underwear - wrappers. petticoats, vests etc were made.
    Blankets, from the weavers, were sent to the tucking mill - washed in urine.
    Carding Mills.
    Wool sent to the carding mill was sprinkled with oil - beaten with a club to work the oil into it.
    Dyeing
    Sometimes it was dyed at home to make frieze before being sent to the weavers two colours. They often kept a few coloured sheep - black and grey - specially for frieze.
    Tailors
    Came and stayed in the home to make all the clothes needed for the household.
