    of May you would be free from all diseases for the next year.
    A cobweb was used to cure a bleeding would and to stop the bleeding
    Water cress was used to purify the blood and improve the appetite
    To cure the sting of a nettle, bee, or wasp a dock leaf was used
    The broad leafed fern (hart's tongue) was roasted and placed to a burn to cure it
    Poultices made with bread, sugar and soap mixed together were used for piles
    Cobbler's wax on brown paper was used for boils
    To draw the pus out of a ripe boil a bottle was filled with hot water. The bottle was emptied quickly and the mouth (of the bottle) was placed firmly over the boil. In a few minutes the matter was all drawn out.
    To cure measles sheep's currants were boiled in milk and given as medicine.
    Uisge na dtrí teoranta was drunk as a cure. This water is got from a well where three townlands meet. Such a well call Ana Díge is at the boundary of Kilpatrick, Ballygrissane & Willow Hill. To effect a cure this water should be got before sunrise and the person bringing it should neither see nor speak to anyone on the way.
