    that on the last two days of March they had "to rise" the cow and to skin her, and on the first day of April they buried her. Others say "The last days of March the Duhallow butcher draws out his knife". This means lots cows die at this time and the butcher skins them.
    Michlemas Day (the 29th of September) is supposed to be the day on which the first goose should be killed. From this forward "the Harvest of the Geese" is at hand.
    Before this no goose is supposed to be fit to be eaten.
